hero & leander may sound slightly like a brand of washing up detergent, but they are infact a six piece indie rock/pop group hailing from all over the uk. driving drum beats and guitar driven melodies, balanced against sweet and beautiful female vocals, to create a sound thats edgey but totally twee at the same time. with simlairties being made to belle and sebastian and architecture in helsinki, its hard to not to see hero & leander becoming a big name in the indie pop world. their debut ep collider is out 29th august on lam records and their debut album is due to land sometime in 2012.

its been a while since we've heard anything from aussie pop band architecture in helsinki. but they're, well and truely back, with their awesome reworking of cut copy's 'need you' last week and a new album and single, out in about a week. 'moment bends' is a seemly more mature record than previous offerings, although it still hangs on to that quirkiness, that made them famous through tracks such as 'that beep' which ran riot around the blogs a few years ago. all that combines to create a well rounded pop record. the new single 'contact high' is out now and the album 'moment bends' lands on the 11th april. all links are below.

its hard to put a finger on where gold panda sit genre wise. they/he could quite easily fit within the electro dance category, but then again seem to be so much more than just straight forward electro dance. perhaps they fit better in the glitch-techno or even chillwave. the new album 'companion' is as seemingly hard to place. consisting of a number of eps which date back to 2009. the whole thing takes you on a rollercoaster ride through a soundscape of electro, synths, sitars, bleeps, computer game esque sound effects and pop inspired melodies. from the highs of tracks like 'police' and 'win-san western' to the chilled out low of 'lonely owl' with its meandering piano melody and eastern inspired picked sitars. 'companion' is one of those records that has a track for every occasion. the album is out now all the links are below, and trust me this will definitely be sound-tracking your summer.
